Kyle Luttrell formed Luttrell Racing in 2009 after he picked up the “karting itch” at his local kart track in Woodstock, Georgia. For several years Luttrell focused his efforts on local kart racing before turning attention to National 4-cycle sprint kart racing series, and earning success in WKA RLV Gold Cup Series in the Southeast and the Briggs & Stratton 206 Cup Series in the Midwest. Luttrell has spent years tuning, testing and developing his IONIC Edge Chassis, which stands for “Innovation on New Improved Chassis.”

“When I first stepped foot onto a local go kart track in Woodstock, Ga., I was hooked,” Luttrell said. “There was just something about racing go-karts that got my adrenaline rushing.  Over the years I have devoted more and more time to my karts and helping friends with their questions about racing. With such an overwhelming amount of interest from my friends, and because I enjoyed the racing experience so much, I decided it was time to start Luttrell Racing. It’s been growing ever since.”

After success on local and regional levels, Luttrell brought his team to the national level in 2013 in the World Karting Association (WKA) Gold Cup Series. Starting with only a few drivers, IONIC Edge Chassis soon earned notice from many in the Gold Cup community. As testing and development continued, the IONIC Edge’s performance continued to improve.

In the four-race 2015 Gold Cup Series, Luttrell Racing’s success rate increased at every event, and so did the amount of drivers competing on an IONIC. The season culminated at Lamar County Speedway in Barnesville, Ga., in September 2015, where 10 drivers riding 12 different IONIC Edge Chassis entered competition at the WKA Grand Nationals. Edge racers netted four wins and 15 top-five finishes at Barnesville, putting an exclamation point on the Luttrell Racing’s best year to date.

From 2016 through 2020 IONIC Edge Chassis have won races and championships at the club, regional and national level across North America, including the USAC Karting Battle at the Brickyard at Indianapolis, Cup Karts North America grand nationals at New Castle, SKUSA, WKA, AKRA and more.

Today the IONIC Edge is one of the hottest chassis in 4-cycle sprint racing. The kart is a great choice for Briggs & Stratton LO206 and Animal racing – junior to adult – rookie to pro. Our chassis continue to win races and championships at every level. Our support is second-to-none, and we’re always available to answer your questions and give you the important advice and direction that will propel you to the top step of the podium!

Our Mission Statement…

“Our goal at Luttrell Racing is not to sell the most karts to the most people, but rather to sell you a kart that fits you and your needs. We make sure the kart is built especially for you, from the powder-coat color to the perfect seat. Our ultimate goal is to make sure that each of our customers is 100% satisfied with their final product.”
